Imagine walking on a giant map, tracing the local river to the ocean; what questions would you—or your students, ask about the places you observe and the peoples who live there? Join me in this interactive experience as we discover the connection between ourselves and the water surrounding and sustaining us. This life-sized cartographic lens of the giant Ocean, Freshwater and Us map inspires systemic thinking, helping all who explore the map to strengthen their connection to coastal areas, the ocean, inland waterways and watersheds in Canada. The giant floor map, in combination with the augmented reality experience, enhances classroom learning, enabling students to discover aquatic ecosystems through multi-sensory and self-directed inquiry.

This is a bring your own device (BYOD ) session. Participants will need a hand-held smart device for the Augmented Reality (AR) extension. Download the App here: https://oceanweekcan.ca/blue-learning-lab/inquiry-zone-3/giant-floor-map/
Both Android and Apple IOS devices will work.
